Nervy Narrative Hero

About the Author!!

Dr Amina Mobashir is a dedicated intensivist and physician who has spent her career at the helm of critical care. Her professional life in the ICU took a personal turn when she was diagnosed with autoimmune neuropathy, a transition that transformed her from a provider of care to a recipient of it. To navigate the weekly rhythm of her immunoglobulin infusions, she began documenting the intersection of her clinical expertise and her lived experience. Beyond the hospital and the infusion chair, she is a mother to a spirited nine-year-old and the wife of a thoracic surgeon.

Her writing offers a poignant reflection on finding agency within a nervous system in rebellion—reminding us that even when the body falters, the narrative remains ours to write.
